Post subject: Tired of Your Character Getting All the Good Food?
PostPosted: Mon Dec 19, 2011 9:29 pm
Tried to search on the subject from this forum, but didn't found anything... Maybe it's just me, but...

Have you guys ever cooked WoW-food?

I made whole Wow-dinner to my friends when I got my first character to the top-level (that was 80 then). The menu for the evening was:

- Murloc Eye Soup
- Dusky Crab Cakes
- Ravager Dogs (though space insects were out of stock on market, so I used seitan instead)
- Alterac Manna Biscuits and various drinks and potions for the late-night nod fest

Personally liked the Crab Cakes best though it was kinda of odd to eat crab meat for I have been having this "vegetarian" debuff for decades.

I didn't have the legendary Tauren Cook Book in my use (http://www.taurenchef.com/), but I did use some of it's cooking recipes. Love to cook (525) and do my cooking dailies daily so this was quite a fun to do. I'd really need to do this again someday.

Aww I'm sure we have many passionate chefs in the guild. Maybe they'll speak up :-). Personally I never got much anything out of making dinners for people in WoW due to the fact that Ultima Online "ruined it for me".

In UO you can put a table down, place a plate on it, place food on it, and place cutlery down. It really feels like you're cooking dinner because you can create ovens etc in your home and cook in them. Also the raw ingredients are not just meat that you take off bodies, but things such as wheat can be harvested from crops outside, then ground into flour on a machine you can make for your home. The game is just so much more immersive in that way that cooking WoW meals just felt so lame after that. *ducks*

Never played UO, but I do remember how harvesting fields empty in hunger made me feel sad every time playing Ultima V.
