The Gatherer addon actually marks the location of chests on your map, if that helps.

Crowmane update: Admittedly I did send a few gold to Crowmane so he could start but that is all. He is now a level 6, the xp was made solely with exploring picking herbs and mining. I have been killed more times than I care to remember but if I am honest I am starting to enjoy the experience now, trying to figure out how to get that Earthroot while there is a scorpoid close by and get out in one peice.

The herbs and copper I have collected was put in the auction house and was bought which gave me enough silver to put the rest in. So now I am sat in Silvermoon with about 58 gold in my pocket more than I have ever had at this level and this is after I paid Loresh the gold he sent me back.

To date I have not killed anything and have not done a single quest, progress is slow but already I can afford my mount and some new clothes .

This is a whole new experience for me and one I am enjoying, hard to believe but the sence of achievement you get from getting 50 xp by picking that peacebloom is fantastic.

I'm also finding this an invigorating experience and also enjoy how now "the little things in life" reap so much emotional reward. Also refreshing to need a new way of playing the game.

Last night just as my druid had reached level 10 (with Jezaline shuttling her around high in the sky) we came down in Dragonblight to get a flightpath. Big mistake. A buzzard swooped in and killed Luyu. And since I'm compensating the exploration "cheating" with taking on an additional challenge which is not to die a single time, it was back to ye olde drawing board and had to restart Luyu.

Got the third Luyu finally to level 8 with rocket exploration and levelled up 1 "honest" level with herbalism and mining so she's now level 9 and from here on she will gain XP from her crafting only. Also put up her first auctions last night.

Im thinking the Auction house is the way to go with this Brambline, this way we can buy the armor we need to last just that bit longer at that node or ore we are chipping away at with the raptor or what ever biting our butts.

My goal at the moment is to get to level 10 so that I can get into cat form and prowl, once I get that I think we will be unstoppable. Going resto obviously then level 16 for aquatic and travel form and off we go, stealth, plunder, travel form and run away.

Will be posting more updates along the way. :)

Nothing is stopping you from buying stuff on the AH and selling it again for a profit right? With some skill, I'm pretty sure you could make a bit of gold.

Nope - you can play the AH all you want.

Update on Brukhorn: After getting the copper together to train herbalism last night everything has been just breezy. Sold the first few picks for a total of 75s leaving money to train mining and buy a pick.

This was all at level 3, so I couldn't learn fishing as that needs you to be lvl 5 for some reason. Am now lvl 6 thanks to picking herbs, mining and exploring Tirisfal glades (mostly....SM is just too high level for me to reach without dieing too much) and Eversong Woods.

I am now trying to decide wether I should go on a herbing mining spree in Torosfal Galdes or Durotar to get mining levelled up and get a few more levels under my belt before I venture into Ghostlands or the Barrens.

Oh, and a few tips, that I have found:

- Herbing/mining exp. benefits from rested xp, so you still get benefits from logging out at an in or in a major city even though you aren't killing anything.

- Food crates and Water barrels are common spawns in Razor Hill typically 1-2 of them available with an acceptable short respawn timer (about 10-15 minutes). Remember to look inside the buildings - they can spawn there too.

- With the new tracking system you can track both Herbs and Ores at the same time (as opposed to the good old days where you could only track one at a time)

Vanija, If you want to take Bruk on a gathering spree I would recommend either Eversong woods (Blood elf area) or the first stop that orcs make when they leave the starting area. The mobs in both areas dont camp on the herbs and ore deposits.
I managed to get from level 3 - 7 just on gathering and exploring in these areas. :)

next step level 10 and prowl (mmmm prowl)

Durotar it is then - I think roaming in front of the gates of Orgrimmar suits the feel of Brukhorn best.

Ker-splat because of greed to get "that one herb over there".
One more try!

That's too bad, maybe you should make another condition instead of not dying once, for example leveling the maximum number of professions as well? Or does fishing count as killing?

Nope fishing is ok Lahu. we are classing killing as anything that will show as a kill in the armory stats. We are aiming for zero beast kills, humanoid and critter kills oh and zero quests completed. As a bit of fun some of us are trying for the To all the squirrels I have known achievement as well

I have also started this challenge on ally side. My character is a human male thief called Brookman which is odd enough my rl last name.

The first profession was learnt quickly as i found out that a thief carries three weapons at start all sellable for 3 copper. The last needed copper came from my boots.

I did have to start over because i sold my gear to a trainer who gladly accepted it but forgot to pay me.

To get money from only herbalism is slow. I remebered from my starting days a nice selling machine. Which is the following. The recipe slithering mackerel. This one can be bought at the fish shop in forlorn caverns ironforge for 38 copper. But sells for a lot more on AH as this is the only place where you can buy this recipe.

After getting all the copper needed i bought it. Walked to ah, and found out that I needed 1 silver in order to be able to place it on the auction house. Back to herbalism again and picking more herbs. This time i nearly got killed twice but got away. After having the silver i looked on the auction house to see what the recipe did. People asked 25 gold for the recipe. To be honest i didnt think this was reasonable. So in order to sell it fast, i put it on for 2,5 gold so it seemed like a typo.

So now i am the proud owner of 2,5 gold on my nearly level 3 character.

:D

Congratulations and a huge well done Brambline on getting Luyu the pacifist Druid to level 20.
You have set the benchmark, now there is no going back for any of us :-)

Well done you!

Oh well done! I started a pacifist druid on Moonglade last week and took advantage of the Noblegarden quests. He's level nine now. I've been collecting herbs and ore and doing non combat quests such as delivering and and collecting things. He has all of the nelf, draenei and human starter zones discovered too.

I may just start a new one on the Sha'tar instead ^^
