OK, for those of you who may be frequently coming onto LOTRO and are new to the game. Part of your character development is your Traitss. There are several catagories of Traits, they are.

1:) Virtue
2:) Race
3:) Class
4:) Legendary

1) Virtue

Virtues are one of the four types of Traits your character can gain in LotRO. You acquire Virtues, and gain up to 10 Ranks within each, by completing Deeds and occasionally Quests.
Each Virtue grants bonuses to 3 different Character Stats: the primary stat receives the largest bonus, the secondary stat receives a smaller bonus, and the tertiary stat receives the smallest.
In order to activate these bonuses, the player must visit a Bard to slot up to 5 of the virtues they've gained. It costs 1 25 per virtue to slot or change a virtue, no matter what rank it has. These 5 slots open up at levels 7, 9, 11, 17 and 23. These virtue bonuses stack with each other and with all other bonuses, and are an inexpensive way to tweak your character's build for different game-play situations.

You have 5 slots for these Virtues, you start off with 3 when you reach level 7, then extra ones open up at levels 9,11,17,23

Here is a link to more info on Virtues. What bonuses they give and how to get them.

2:) Race

Racial Traits are unique to each race. Most require you to defeat a specified number of certain mob type. The first slot opens up at level 13, which is also when you can begin working toward trait. Most racial traits will provide your character with a special skill or fast travel ability (e.g., Return to Rivendell). Racial Traits cost 22 50 to slot at a Bard.

3:) Class Traits

Class Traits are unique to each class. You can begin working toward Class Traits as soon as you leave the Introduction Area and begin using your skills. Most Class Traits require that you use a certain skill a specified number of times, then the trait becomes available for slotting; the first slot opens up at level 15. A few traits require a Quest to obtain. Class Traits cost 11 25 to slot at a Bard.

4:)Legendary

Legendary Traits are based on the character's class and cost 101 25 to slot at a Bard.

These traits are listed under your class traits. Links are in the previous post.

Virtues and Deeds

Has stated earlier in the thread, there are 20 Virtues. each virtues has a number of bonuses attached to it. To gain these virtues you need to complete Deeds.

Now deeds do not only provide you with virtues. They also offer you titles, faction gain, personal items, items for your characters home, and war band maneuvers.

Now Deeds are split into various catagories. now if you open your Deeds Panel (shift + l ) you will see 6 buttons on the top of the panel Skirmish, Instances, Hobbies, Class/Race/Epic, Eriador, Rhovanion. Rhovanion is only open to you if you have either the VIP account or bought the expansions/adventure packs with your turbine points.

Skirmish Deeds
These are new to me as well. They were not around last ime I played. But found some excellent guides here.

http://www.lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Skirmish_Compendium

Instance Deeds
Instance deeds are done from completeing certain tasks in the higher level instances such as the Mines of Moria, Khazad-dum and Shadows of Angmar.

Hobby Deeds
Again another new aspevt to the game since I last played. from what I can gather these are similar to secondary proffesions in WoW. So far the only hobby is fishing, but I hope they will introduce more.

Class/Race/Epic Deeds
These were covered earlier in the thread.

Eriador 7 Rhovanion Deeds

Region deeds can involve performing quests, discovering locations, or simply defeating creatures but they are all grouped by a region. Most region deeds reward either a title or a virtue.
