As some of You may know LOTRO is free to play now and me and Brambline have talked last night about a possibility of creating an Elders chapter over there. If anyone would like to try it, download the game from
http://community.lotro-europe.com/downl ... stings.php
The european (english language) RP server is called [EN-RP] Laurelin.
So if anyone wants to take a break from WoW sometimes and still have the good people from our guild around this could be a neat idea.
My LOTRO toon on Laurelin is called Viltfrid

I already have the game but stopped playing it as I didnt want to pay to run two games at the same time. If I can find the game I will be more than happy to join :D

*updated: 20 minutes later and I have the game in my hand :)

I kinda hoped that Brambline could lead us to victory against Mordor but she says that she is too busy with WoW. So we need to elect the leader for this fellowship, preferably someone with experience in the game (Jeplin maybe?). Then we could all meet one night ingame to create the guild and check it out.

Im in. Fellowship of the Elders? In keeping with The Elders tradition. "Fellowship of the Elders" I for one like how that sounds

Just getting all the updated data then I will be able to check what server my characters are on and what level they are, will let you know what their names are once I get on line.

*Cant remember, how many people do you need to form a Fellowship?

Aye we had a chat about this last night indeed and my immediate reaction was being thrilled. It's sort of a continuation of how we have elders on the horde side, but also on the ally side, enabling us to enjoy both sides yet keeping the same great people. Well imagine if we had guilds in other games as well, again - allowing us to keep our family of great people but giving more playing options. In fact the other day when I responded to the RL intro thread and was talking about Second Life in response to Noggin, it got me thinking how cool it would be to show you guys Second Life as well some time.

I've played the trial of Lotro many years ago, around the time it came out, but was not very impressed. At the time it seemed like a cheap and poorly made copy of WoW in the way the game was used. Also the icons and indicators, and UI in general seemed very shabby and hard to understand what the icons were depicting. I haven't tried it since but the thought of giving it another go has danced in my mind ever since I heard it was now free to play. So I'll probably come give it a whirl as well.

However like Odi said, my table is full with WoW and other stuff so I'm more than happy for someone else to lead the guild in Lotro (and same goes for any possible other games that we might want to do this in). In this respect I really think the name Fellowship of the Elders sounds really suitable too!

When y'all get some info on what server, and what character names you have - let us know here on this thread. I'm sure there are many who'd be interested in trying it as well.

Wasn't one of the servers an "unofficial RP server"? I forget the name of it, but that was the one I made a character on years ago.

I'll look into it though my spare time is pretty much devoted to Wow and so much happening with it at the moment. If I can run via external drive and have the time to download I'll do so...

Ok I've found my old login info. The only problem is now I don't know where to download the client. The link that was in email from a couple of years ago is not working anymore and on the website I can only see how to make a new trial account...

Anyone know the link for downloading the client?
