I did a small intro on the RL intro thread but thought i'd fill in on my gaming background and say hello properly here.

I started gaming back in 1985 when I got the Atari 2600. From there i've had several consoles ranging from Master System, Mega Drive, PS1, Ps2 and currently my 360. I've also gone through quite a few PC's when I got a Spectrum in 1991 and moved on to Atari ST a few years later.

WoW was my first MMO. I was still in the Army when I started it in 2005, one of the lads in our barracks block played so ended up getting myself a PC to dabble with WoW when nothing else was going on.

Since settling down with my missus i've put more time into it and due to my work hours being very low I do get quite a bit of time to play.

I finished "classic" WoW with a level 60 Rogue and Mage. By the end of TBC my 2 had been joined by my Shaman and by the end of Wrath I had 7 level 80's. I currently have 2 85's (Gomly and Khaze, priest and hunter respectively) and am working on my third.

It may look like i'm a level'a'holic but I do a lot of PvP and like to have a switch around between characters, if I play one for too long I lose interest.

I moved off the Sha'tar for a few months when Ulduar hit, I joined a hardcore raid guild on Mazrigos. I came back after Argent Tournement and then went back to Maz not long after ICC hit.

I got major burnout from the raiding and because it was taken so seriously the fun had gone and I lost interest in WoW. I left WoW for 6 months. My wife got on Beta and I looked at the upcoming changes but wasn't impressed however decided to give it another go as most things had changed and it may shoot the fun back in. So far i've been enjoying it again, makes a difference meeting people with similar lifestyles.

I have tried other MMO's Warhammer, AION, Age of Conan, DDO and LoTR. I do still play a bit of Warhammer as I absolutely love the PvP there.

However, at heart, i'm a console gamer so do tend to vanish for a few weeks/months at a time when a game is released i've been waiting for. Currently thats Dragon Age 2.

Welcome to the Elders, Gomly

I here you when it comes to Console Gaming, I am too, and DA2 is high up, if not top on my Console wish list, as is The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Confirmed), Warhammer 40.000: Space Marine and Batman: Arkham City.

Anyway, enjoy the time you have with this fantastic guild.

Dwarves say never good bye... We say "OFF WIV YE'"
