 Post subject: Elders Midsummer Party!
PostPosted: Sun Jun 19, 2011 12:19 am
To celebrate both the beginning and ending of the Midsummer Festivities in Azeroth, I propose we have a party! Even better, let's have two parties!

Midsummer Fire Festival begins: Tuesday 21.6.
Horde summer party
Location: Mulgore (we'll meet up in Thunder Bluff at the Totem guild bank)
Starting time: 21:00 game time

Midsummer Fire Festival ends: Monday 4.7.
Alliance summer party
Location: (Undecided)
Starting time: 21:00 game time

So why two parties instead of one like we've had before?

- As nice as it's been to have both sides meeting up, the meetings have been less intimate because of the feeling of "outsiders", even though we all know that behind the other faction are the same players we know and love from their alts of our own faction, the names of their character are still foreign to us
- The chat gets spammed full of a lot of foreign tongue gibberish which weakens the atmosphere as people try to keep track of the conversation
- A lot of the time there have been many hordies but only a few allies, which make the minority feel a bit lonely as they watch the hordies party and chatter, not being able to understand what people are saying
- It's much more of a hassle to organize, getting everyone there and handling summons etc
- Since most of us have alts on both sides, this way we can all gather on horde side for one party then all go to the ally side for the ally party. The parties are in different locations and should offer a different experience. There is a two week time between each, so it will also give time to "recover" from the first one before going to the second.
- Since getting a time and date to fit for everyone is always hard, having 2 parties allows most folks to find at least 1 time that suits them (if they can't make it to both).

The parties are small scale (not like our New years bash) and for the Elders, but feel free to ask non-elder friends along if you like, or come with your non-elder alt.

As usual, no obligation or pressure to come to the parties, and feel free to drop in and drop out at any time.

That sounds great! I'll try to make both parties! :D

(Edit: I think I can't make it for the Horde party, already have plans for that night. :()

Oh, will you add an entry to the in-game calendar? Maybe even with an invite?

One more hour to go :).

We're going to a very summery place with a lot of unusual things to see. I recommend bringing a character who is interested in biology, science or archeology!

And you might want to bring clothing items that accentuate that. For instance mining picks to hold in your hand, or monocles to make it look like you want to inspect something closer etc :).

Think Indiana Jones crossed with Jane Goodall crossed with summer casual wear. *giggles mischievously*
