 Post subject: Alternative characters joining
PostPosted: Sat Mar 28, 2009 1:34 pm
How do we get our other characters enrolled in the guild, please? Formally as an application to join through this site?

And I seem to remember seeing something about adding the names of our alts in the note field (of our profile?), but haven't been able to work out how to do this. Could someone go through this, please?

Thanks,

Grikaxis

About the enrollment, it's up to Brambline to decide, but as far as I understand it so far no formal application was needed for alts.

About adding the names, I suggested that could be a nice way to keep track of everyone on both factions.
Two ways I can think of it are:
- writing in game in the character notes "X's alt", being X our name on the forums
- adding a signature here on the forums like mine, here below...

It's nothing mandatory, as Brambline said, but it may be nice if you want other people to be able to keep track of the player behind the character...

Hi Grik,

No separate applications etc. Simply ask me or one of the other elders to add you when logged on with the alt you want to add and tell them you are Grikaxis.

The way in which you can check whether an Elder is online is like this:

1. Click the little exclamation mark at the bottom of your screen and choose the "Who" tab: Image

2. From the drop down at the top, choose "Guild". Write in "Elders" at the bottom and press enter:

3. You'll get a listing of who is online, right click anyone you know has been in the guild a longer time (thus having patron or matron status) and whisper away:

Sorry if this is self evident for you Grik, but not everyone knows this stuff.

As for how to add a note to your profile:

Again same window, but now choose "Guild". From there click your name in the list, and click the "Public Note" area. It will bring up a window where you can write in your text.

That's just what I needed! I'm completely inexperienced in working with guilds, so this is all new to me.

Useful for others, too, perhaps.

See you online

I'm tempted to choose my alt for my icon; she looks immensely attractive ... a sort of palomino blood elf.

Grikaxis.

So I'll just poke someone in Elders to get my Alliance chars in? Just checking :)

Yup. Please poke Lulai/Shalestina/Ferocia first if any of them is online (they are Brambline's alt). If not, any other Elder would suffice.

We don't bite. Usually. We do sacrifice a gnome (or two) on occasion, but hey ... we really like them gnomes. Especially with ketchup.

In fact, a deep-fried gnome dipped in Dragonbreath Chilli is my own personal favourite - I do recommend tying up the little critters first, though - and perhaps gagging them - that squee-ey, meeping noise they make as they heat up is rather annoying.
Also, it's a good idea to rip all their hair out ...gnome hair tends to go all crispy when heated up, and I find it a possible choking hazard.
You can use the hairs for braiding, or making dreamcatchers, etc...
