Helluw

It was allready been mentioned but I decided to make a post about it.
Yesterday we did some HC run which was very fun and enjoyable my qstion is does anyone has got ventrillo or teamspeak for a better and nicer communication ,when me and my wife had our Raidingguild in the past we had teamspeak and it was alot easier and fun aswell,i know Bramb told me she allready pays for our site but maybe other persons have a solution or are willing to bring it up.
First me and my wife wanted to purshase it again but we decided not todo it atm because in past we did so much effort in guilds and after all we were left in cold, our excuses for that but you will understand that .

Some people were mentioning Skype; im not familiar with it but I heard it cant be sett up with a push to talk ability.

Hope we can solve something.

Regards

I had some good and some bad experience with the voice chat in the past. While it can be fun for people using it, not using it (for any reason) can keep people out of the social contact with others who use it. The very same thing happened in my previous guild on the Horde (Swamprat Mercenaries) abouth a month ago and many people left the guild because of this very issue, myself included.

Also: for heroics and raids, you don't need it. For example: in the 15th Dusk, we don't use the voice chat in our raids, yet we still raid successfully (currently in the Top 10 on The Sha'tar, progression-wise).

While I have nothing against the use of the voice chat, please honour the people who are not able or willing to use it.

Once in a while members do raise this topic. In fact one time a lady in her 60's said she would join the Elders if we used voice chat because she has bad fingers and typing hurts. But especially in the beginning when the guild really started out with us roleplaying (simply because we did not know each other on a RL level yet) I wanted to keep voice chat out of the guild. Even to the point of telling this lady that no, we do not use it and will not be using it.

Chatting via text is already bad enough in washing out some of the mystery, allure and immersion in how you see your fellow guild mates characters, but using voice chat would kill the last remaining bits. Of course it could bring us much closer together as players, then again it might not and may actually split us apart for the reasons Zamarane mentioned.

I'm really really sorry to hear this happened to the Swamprats Zam... I can hardly believe it. It felt like such a strong and wonderful guild. I had no idea this happened.

Let me just make it clear that "paying for it" has not been my main concern about voice chat, it's been the danger of ruining the roleplaying aspect that worried me most. Before making this guild I had actually been seeking a guild for the longest time that had absolutely no OOC chat what so ever. Only pure IC chat, but I never managed to find one. This is just to demonstrate how strongly I feel about keeping at least, some level of RP alive in the Elders.

I understand that for those of you who have come to the Sha'tar from the non-RP servers, it's hard to understand what could be so dangerous about friendly voice chat, but for many of the roleplayers this is quite clear and as Zamarane's story proves, it is not only dangerous to the RP but also to the relations between us.

So I have decided to stick to my original plan: We will not be having any voice chat in this guild.

If some decide to put together a voice chat on your own, that is of course your decision and certainly not something I will frown upon, but consider it your private chatroom instead of an official elders one. :-)
